CBSE Board Exam 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a critical security update for the 2025 board examinations. In a significant move aimed at ensuring transparency and curbing unfair practices, the board has mandated that all examination centres for Class 10 and Class 12 must be equipped with CCTV monitoring systems. This decision will affect over 44 lakh students across 8,000 schools in India and 26 countries abroad.
CBSE’s New Security Protocol for Board Exams:
In a letter addressed to school principals, Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, CBSE’s Controller of Examinations, emphasized that schools without proper CCTV facilities will not be designated as exam centres. The new guidelines require schools to install high-resolution cameras to monitor examination halls, entrances, exits, and desks. The CCTV footage must capture all student activities during the exam, ensuring that all students are visible within the camera’s field of view.
This step is part of CBSE’s ongoing efforts to tighten security and prevent malpractice in board exams. The board has made it clear that the footage should be securely stored and easily accessible for review in case of any suspicious activities.
Detailed CCTV Requirements for CBSE Board Exam 2025:
•Comprehensive Coverage: Cameras must be installed in such a way that they cover all critical areas, including entrances, exits, and student desks within examination halls.
•High-Resolution Cameras: To ensure clear visibility, high-resolution cameras are required. This will allow authorities to monitor student actions and examination materials in detail.
•Continuous Monitoring: The cameras should record throughout the duration of the exams. All footage must be stored securely and kept available for review if required.
Only designated exam officials and security personnel will have access to the live feed. Additionally, for every 10 examination rooms, an invigilator will be appointed to monitor the CCTV footage and report any incidents of unfair practices. This strict monitoring system is expected to significantly reduce instances of cheating and ensure a fair examination environment.
