PM Kisan Yojana: These accounts holders will not get 17th Installment, Check Your Name in the List

The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) is a significant welfare initiative launched by the Government of India to provide financial assistance to the small and marginal farmers of the country. Introduced in 2019, this scheme aims to augment the income of farmers and ensure their economic security amidst various agrarian challenges.

Under the PM-KISAN scheme, the government provides direct financial support of Rs 6,000 annually to farmers, disbursed in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each. This amount is transferred directly into the bank accounts of eligible farmers through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, ensuring transparency and minimizing leakages.

PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana Installments and Implementation:

Since its inception, the scheme has seen the disbursement of 16 installments, with the 17th installment slated for release soon. As per media reports, the 17th installment is expected to be disbursed in June or July, post the Lok Sabha elections. However, the official dates for the release are yet to be announced by the government.

Eligibility and Exclusions

To benefit from the PM-KISAN scheme, farmers must meet specific criteria and adhere to the program’s regulations. Key requirements include:

1. e-KYC Completion: Farmers must complete their electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) process to ensure authenticity and reduce fraudulent claims. Those who fail to do so will not receive the 17th installment.

2. Land Record Verification: Accurate land records are crucial. Farmers must have their land records verified at the nearest agriculture office to qualify for the scheme’s benefits. Unverified land records will result in the withholding of the installment.

3. Correct Information Submission: Farmers need to ensure that the information provided during application is accurate. Any discrepancies or incorrect information will lead to disqualification from receiving the installment.

Exclusions and Stringency

The Government of India has taken stringent measures to prevent misuse of the scheme. There are instances where farmers have been found to claim benefits without meeting the eligibility criteria. Such cases have led to the exclusion of these farmers from subsequent installments. This strict approach ensures that only genuinely deserving farmers receive the financial aid.

PM-Kisan Yojana Application Process

Farmers who have not yet enrolled in the PM-KISAN scheme can apply through a straightforward process:

1. Online Registration: Farmers can visit the official PM-KISAN portal and register by providing the necessary details, including Aadhaar number, bank account details, and land records.

2. Assistance from Agriculture Offices: Alternatively, they can seek assistance from local agriculture offices or Common Service Centres (CSCs) to complete their registration and verification process.

Impact of PM-KISAN

The PM-KISAN scheme has been a pivotal program in supporting the agrarian economy. By providing regular financial aid, it helps small and marginal farmers manage their agricultural expenses, purchase inputs like seeds and fertilizers, and sustain their livelihood amidst market fluctuations and climatic uncertainties. The scheme is part of a broader strategy to uplift the rural economy and ensure food security for the nation.
